Proper maintenance of your crochet twists will ensure longer lasting, beautiful hair. First and foremost, this style is a protective style, which means it’s intended to protect your own natural hair from damage so that it grows longer and stronger. Although your hair will be braided down, and the X-Pression Cuevana Twist hair will be attached to your cornrows, your natural hair and scalp will still require some TLC. Once you care for your own hair & scalp, you can move on to maintaining the X-Pression Cuevana Twist hair itself.
Here are our tips & tricks on how to do all of that:
MAINTAINING NATURAL HAIR & SCALP:
You can still shampoo, condition, and moisturize your natural hair and scalp while you’re wearing twists. The key is to water down all of your hairstyling products to effectively wash and moisturize your natural hair and scalp so that it’s clean and healthy. Using an applicator bottle, mix water to each of product (2/3 water + 1/3 product), and shake well. Then, spray generously onto your hair and scalp, and then, rinse through with running water.
MAINTAINING X-PRESSION CUEVANA TWIST HAIR:
Now, when it comes to maintaining the X-Pression Cuevana Twist hair itself, we highly recommend sleeping with a silk scarf (bonnet or pillow case) to keep the hair from becoming dry, which can cause frizzing and matting.
