How long have you been a vlogger for?
I started vlogging this summer, so not for long. I would say 5 months.
Why did you decide to become a YouTube vlogger?
I decided to do it because a lot of people on Instagram would ask me where did I get my hair from or how do I do my make up and what [products] do I use, etc. So, I was just sitting in my room with nothing to do and I took my iPhone and started recording and playing around with the movie editor app. I got a lot of good feedback from it, so I started doing hair reviews.
What do you love most about being a vlogger?
The thing I love most is helping people. When I see the comments and people telling me they went to go buy something because they watched my video it’s an awesome feeling to know they trusted my word and went out to buy it.
What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about fashion and beauty because I love making people feel good. I’m a very caring and positive person. I think everyone should feel pretty in their own way. Since I was little, I would play with makeup and walk around in my mother’s heels. As I got older I would want her to feel good about herself, so I would curl her hair and do her make up. I would do the same for other family members. Feeling good is a part of being confident. If you don’t feel good, you aren’t going to feel as confident.
Which Outre product is your favorite so far?
My favorite product from Outre is the Simply Perfect 9. I never loved hair so much in my life. I’ve done different hairstyles with the hair and its still keeps the body, the thickness, and the softness.
Where do you get your hair inspiration? Any celebrity hair crushes?
I get my hair inspiration from everywhere. I look on Instagram on hairstylists’ pages. I love Rihanna because she’s always changing up her style. And Nicki Minaj, now that she is back to more of a mature natural look with the black hair. Also, Lauren London, Angela Simmons, and the list goes on. But if I see it and I like it I will try it.
What’s your #1 hair maintenance tip?
Don’t flat iron your hair as much — the heat dries out the hair.
What do you plan to do after your graduation? Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
After I graduate college, I plan on attending a medical program so I can become certified as a sonogram tech. In 5 years, I see myself working, living in my own house, traveling with my close girlfriends and engaged. Just enjoying life!
